Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has granted relief to the makers of Pushpa 2 movie Yelamanchili Ravishankar and Yerneni Naveen in connection with a case registered against them in the stampede case at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad.
The police have been directed that the investigation can continue but they should not be arrested. Justice K Srujana passed interim orders after hearing a petition filed by Ravishankar and Naveen in the High Court seeking quashing of the case registered by Chikkadapally police in the wake of the death of a woman in the stampede.
Advocate N Naveen Kumar, appearing for the petitioner, told the court that the petitioners had nothing to do with the incident and added that none of the charges mentioned in the FIR apply to them. He said the office staff of the petitioners informed the police and the Sandhya theater management about the visit of actor Allu Arjun to the theatre and added that on the day of the incident, senior police officers like ACP and DCP came to the theatre and inspected the security. The judge, who heard the arguments passed interim orders in the case. The petitioners have been directed to cooperate with the police investigation in the case. Notices have been issued to the police and the complainant to file their counters in the case.
Meanwhile, the court adjourned the hearing on the petitions filed by the theatre manager Adda Sarath Chandra Naidu, Allu Arjun's personal staff Cheruku Ramesh and Sriramulu Raju seeking bail
